The obsolete state and the district of Punjab “Bahawalpur”, retains this marvel. It is situated in the heart of the “Cholistan Inn”, 48km south from Dera Nawab Shah. Its all 40 spectacular towers are visible from miles away.

The Fort was built in the nineteenth century by a Hindu ruler “Roy Raja Bhatti” of Jaisalmer. It was known as “Dera Rawal” previously that later turned out to be as “Derawar”. It is surrounded by wasteland, deserts, and woods. If you would see the a scene from above, it seems like a mysterious ship, sunk in the ocean. You can see camels passing by, enough to make you feel like you are in the desert of Arabia centuries ago.

This Rajasthan style structure of the fort has a significant beauty that lies in the design of its 40 towers, as all of them are not alike to each other. Most of them are still standing strut decorated with black colored tiles on their primes.

There is a natural pond in the Southeast part of the fort, locally called “Toba”. The prior rulers and governors of Bahawalpur state are consigned to the blue-tiled graves inside the fort.

There is a myth about the walls of the fort that they change their hues seven to eight times throughout the day. “Jeep Desert Really” has really been helpful to promote thousands of visitors to come to the visit of the fort
